Charlie Winfield is an attorney who frequently serves as outside counsel to Mississippi State University and its employees in state and federal court lawsuits.  Since 2004, Charlie has served as a managing member of a Starkville, Mississippi law firm, where his practice has focused on civil litigation, including matters that impact educational institutions, such as Title VII, Title IX, and Mississippi Tort Claims Act issues.  Charlie also serves as general counsel to The Bulldog Club, Inc., a non-profit entity that provides support to MSU’s athletic teams.   Charlie frequently serves as a mediator of civil disputes involving other attorneys and their clients.

Before returning to his hometown of Starkville, Charlie practiced law with the international firm Jones Day in Dallas, Texas, where his practice focused on commercial litigation.  Charlie is a 1994 graduate of Mississippi State University and a 1997 graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School In his spare time, Charlie serves as a broadcaster, including the MSU pregame and postgame football radio broadcasts and the SEC Network+ broadcasts of MSU baseball and basketball.
