Sirena Cantrell

Sirena Cantrell has extensive experience in higher education, serving in a variety of roles throughout her career in Student Affairs. Her expertise areas include: student conduct, student crisis management, counseling services, Title IX and student support services. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Psychology from Millsaps College, a Master of Science in Counselor Education with an emphasis in School Counseling and is nearing completion of her Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education, both from, Mississippi State University. Sirena Cantrell served as Dean of Students and Title IX Coordinator at Mississippi University for Women prior to beginning her position at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM). She now serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at USM. Sirena is currently responsible for supervisory oversight of the Dean of Students office; Office of Disability Accommodations; Student Counseling Services; Student Health Services; Center for Military Veterans, Service Members, and Families; and Student Support and Outreach. Sirena also oversees the USM Eagle's Nest Food Pantry.
