The MSU Legal Issues Conference will take place April 30-May 2, 2024. Registration is now live and all conference links are located at the top of this page.

We are pleased to offer a two-day pre-conference certification in Behavioral Intervention Team Standards & Best Practices for any interested conference participants beginning on Tuesday, April 30, led by Linda Abbott, L.M.H.C. (TNG Strategic Risk Management Solutions).

President of N.A.S.P.A., Kevin Kruger, Ph.D., will join us virtually to kick-off our regular conference with a discussion surrounding the future of higher education.  A complete list of speakers and bios will be available on the website soon. 

This year we will hear from experts on a variety of topics, including:

  • Care & Concern Teams (Behavioral Intervention Teams) Standards & Threat Assessment
  • University Compliance & Risk Management
  • De-escalating Student Crisis Situations
  • Clery Act Reporting Process/Timely Warnings & Amendments/Audits
  • Disability Accommodations
  • Sexual Misconduct/Title IX

This conference will be valuable for all levels of university practitioners, from senior Student Affairs professionals to conduct officers and counselors, housing professionals, general counsel, and academic administrators. The entire conference will be held in the Mississippi State University Colvard Student Union, wrapping up around lunchtime on Thursday, May 2.

All registered guests for the pre-conference (Day One: April 30 and Day Two: May 1) and regular conference are invited to join us for a social mixer at Two Brothers on Tuesday, April 30, to kick-off the regular 2024 Legal Issues Conference. We will also host a mixer with live music at The LIttle Dooey on Wednesday, May 1. Please mark Attend Two Brothers Social and/or Attend Little Dooey Social, if you plan to attend one event or both.
