The MSU Legal Issues Conference will take place December 2-4, 2026. Registration is now live and all conference links are located at the top of this page. We will also host a NASPA Region III - Mississippi Drive-in Conference on December 2 from noon until 4:30 p.m. Details will be available soon.

Our keynote speakers for the Legal Issues Conference will be Will Creeley, J.D., Legal Director, Foundation for Individual Rights (FIRE) and Brian Van Brunt, Ed.D., Director of Behavior and Threat Management, D-Prep Safety.

This year we will hear from experts on a variety of topics, including:

  • Threat Assessment 
  • Student Care & Concern/Mental Health
  • Current Legal Landscapes of Disability Accommodations & Accessibility
  • Free Speech and Its Impact on the College Climate
  • Impact of Master Planning on Student Success & Engagement

This conference will be valuable for all levels of university practitioners, from senior Student Affairs professionals to conduct officers and counselors, housing professionals, general counsel, and academic administrators. The entire conference will be held in the Mississippi State University Colvard Student Union, wrapping up around lunchtime on Friday, December 4.

Included in the registration for both conferences are two networking opportunities. Please mark Attend Two Brothers Social and/or Attend Little Dooey Social, if you plan to attend one event or both.
