- Associate Vice President of Administration in the Division of Finance and Administration
Jeremiah Dumas is the Associate Vice President of Administration in the Division of Finance and Administration at Mississippi State University, overseeing Transportation, Risk Management, Insurance, and the Office of Environmental Health and Safety. He previously served MSU as Executive Director of Transportation, Associate Director of Facilities Management, Director of the Environmental Collaborative Office, Research Professor with the Geosystems Research Institute, and Adjunct Professor of Landscape Architecture, and earlier worked as a project manager for Design Workshop, a landscape architecture and planning firm, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture from MSU, where he played football and earned MSU and SEC Academic Honor Roll honors, and is a graduate of the John C. Stennis Institute of Government State Executive Development Institute.
Jeremiah has a deep record of service to MSU and Starkville, including as an elected City of Starkville Alderman; co-founder and chair of the Starkville Community Market; chair of the Starkville Young Professionals, Starkville CVB, and Post-Katrina Sun Herald Design Awards; and VP of Parents for Public Schools. He currently chairs the City of Starkville Planning and Zoning Commission and serves as VP of the Mississippi Public Transit Association, alongside executive board service with the Mississippi ASLA, Mississippi Municipal League, Greater Starkville Development Partnership, and Johnny Cash Flower Pickin' Festival.
His honors include recognition as a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, the T.E. Veitch Community Service Award from the Greater Starkville Development Partnership, a Top 50 Under 40 honor from the Mississippi Business Journal, the Charles Carr Leadership Award from the Mississippi Public Transit Association, and two Bill Broyles Friend of the Student Association Awards from the MSU Student Association Senate.
Jeremiah and his wife, Hope, are the parents of five children — Lawson Joy, Katherine, Phelps, Watkins, and Edison — and two Springer Spaniels, Bert and Ernie.
